Problems signing in

I have just downloaded the Photoshop application via the free Creative Cloud system. The Adobe Application Manager appeared to download correctly. I have also just responded to the Adobe e-mail and verified my account and password. Yet when I enter them it simply responds 'Unable to contact Adobe. Please connect to the Internet and try again.' Despite the fact that I am already on the Internet. Can anyone help?
