Unfortunately I'm having a terrible time getting a trial of Adobe CS6 Creative Suite Design to install. I've put around eight hours into it now, having downloaded it through the download manager numerous times, along with downloading it twice through the direct download links that you can find on these forums.
I've used different browsers to download the files.
I've cleared out the temp files folder to open up space, and made sure that when I ran executable files that I ran as an administrator. My computer has plenty of space, with hundreds of gigabytes free.
With the adobe download assistant it has no problem downloading the files. Then it goes into extraction mode, spends a good amount of time churning the hard drive, but then comes up with the following error:
“Error extracting the product installer (Error 101). Check for available disk space on your system and try downloading the product again.”
As above, I made sure that the temp file is clear and I have plenty of space on the hard drive.
When I do the direct download files, it will run for awhile, but eventually it stops and presents the following error message:
“A problem occurred while extracting some files. Check available space on your computer and the write privileges on the destination folder.”
I know that with both routes the issue is extraction. I've made sure I'm not aiming the files at protected directories, checking the properties to ensure no weird permissions or read only status is in effect. I've tried this with several different locations on the hard drive.
I've also the tried the manual extraction suggested that I'd read on these forums. I got winzip and then manually tried to extract the large file. It would get somewhat into the zip file and pulling it apart, but eventually it sends off it's own error message as particular files choke winzip.
I've tried this with both direct downloads. I suppose in theory I might be able to navigate through both downloads and get good extracted versions of the files, but I don't think I can put the time in to tediously go through the whole zip file like that.
I feel like I've explored all the low hanging fruit solutions. I've been pouring over forums to find solutions, trying them out. If it's some simple little fix, then I think I've already tried it.
Windows 7 machine with an i5 processor, 8 gigs of ram and hundreds of gigs of space available. The hard drive is 1 TB.
I've got a big wad of money ready to buy the Creative Suite, but the thing has to actually function for me before I buy. Somebody help!
